My daughter and I made some easy donut holes today.. We used canned biscuits, cut each into 4's and fry them in a little oil. Then roll them in sugar, you can use cinnamon sugar, and even powered sugar, they dont last long..they will start dissapearing as soon as they are rolled in the sugar lol

This was pretty good but next time I would add some green peppers in with the onions and burger to cook, also I think some canned drained tomatoes would go great :D It had a nice creamy sauce that coated all the noodles, My hubby and I loved it, daughter not so much but she is such a picky pants lately grr
1 1/2 lbs. ground hamburger
1/2 c. onion
1 can Campbell's Cheddar cheese soup
1 can Campbell's tomato soup
Cheese
1 bag med. egg noodles
In a large skillet cook hamburger and onions. Mix both cans of soup in the hamburger. Boil egg noodles until done. Drain. Place in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Mix hamburger in with noodles. Place cheese on top. Bake at 350 degrees until cheese is melted and casserole is hot.

Tunafish Basic and Simple

I was wondering what to make for lunch and thought ohhh yummy a tunafish sandwich.. SO I made some here is how I did it. I think most everyone already knows how :D I dont follow a recipe but kind of eyeball it, I used 3 cans of tuna (drained) added some chopped lettuce, about 1/2 a grated carrot, and some tiny tiny diced onions, I love the taste but hate biting into big onion peices, I dont use much onion. Tunafish is usually best the next day after all the onion has a chance to meld in :D here are some pics so you can get an idea for how I did it.. THEN I added in my mayo to moisten it all through and Waaallaaahhhh Lunch time!! Ohhh you can add some chopped pickles too if you want, hubby loves that

South Of The Border Casserole

Got this yummy/spicy recipe from And A Cookie For Dessert Blog
South of the Border Casserole
1 pound of lean ground beef
1 jalapeno, ribs and seeds removed from half, minced
1 large bell pepper, chopped (I omitted)
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves of garlic, minced
28 ounce can of whole tomatoes (fire roasted tomatoes, if you can find them)
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons of cumin
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cups sour cream
8 oz penne, ziti or any small pasta (I used rigatoni)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup cilantro, minced (I didnt have any :( )
In a large deep skillet, brown meat until no longer pink. Drain fat, if necessary. Add the olive oil, peppers, onions and garlic, season with salt and pepper, and cook on medium-high heat. Saute until softened, about 8-10 minutes. Add chili powder and cumin. Add the can of tomatoes, breaking up the whole tomatoes with a spoon, but still leaving big chunks. Add sour cream, stir until mixed. Add pasta. Cover and cook until pasta is al dente, about 25 minutes. Make sure to stir frequently so the pasta doesn't get stuck to the bottom. Serve with the cheddar cheese and cilantro sprinkled on top.

Peanut Butter Fingers

Peanut Butter Fingers
Recipe from Denni, thanks Denni
1/2 C butter
1/2 C sugar
1/2 C brown sugar
1/3 C peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 C rolled oats
1/3 teaspoon salt
1 C flour
1 pkg chocolate chips or chocolate frosting
1 egg
Cream sugars and egg. Then add butter and vanilla together. Add dry ingredients together and add to creamed mixture. Add peanut butter and oats. Press into a 9x13 inch pan that is ungreased (dough is sticky so greasing up your hands helps alot) Bake for 15-20 minutes at 350. Sprinkle on chips while warm and let melt or if using frosting let it cool first. Can add toppings to the top like coconut, toffee, nuts etc..

Amish Starter Tips I have learned
I had a hard time giving away my starters, I dont know many people in my neighborhood SOOo I stuck the extras in the freezer, when I want to use one I get it out and let it thaw then treat it like its on day 2 if that makes sense, works great.
I have never had a problem when using the metal whisks or spoons I dont know why your not supposed to use them hmmm
You can use any flavor of pudding such as butterscotch, pistachio, chocolate etc..
remember to not leave any air in the bag, I thought maybe the air was good in there to help it expand but it got moldy that way so burp your bag to be safe after several days your starter will begin to smell yeasty, that is normal and what you want, it also may seem a little bubbly at times that is also normal
Write the date on your bag when you start so you can keep track of where you are in the days
Any questions please ask

Friendship Starter

In a non metal bowl, using a non metal spoon mix 1 C flour , 1 C sugar, and 1 cup milk, I have actually used a metal whisk here and it turned out fine but the original recipe I had said no metal utensils who knows lol, I put this mixture in a gallon sized ziplock, make sure all the air is out and zip it closed
Day 1 make your starter (as above)
Day 2 mash bag to mix
Day 3 mash bag
Day 4 mash bag
Day 5 add one C flour, 1 C sugar and 1 C milk ( I pour it in a bowl to do this then back into the bag
Day 6 mash bag
Day 7 mash bag
Day 8 mash bag
Day 9 mash bag
Day 10 time to bake
Amish Friendship Bread
pour your entire contents of the bag into a large non metal bowl, Add 1 C sugar, 1 C flour and 1 C milk.
Measure out 4 separate batters by scooping out 1 C of batter into 4 gallon size ziplock bags. keep a starter for yourself and give the other 3 to friends along with the recipe for the bread.
Baking instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees
2. Add the following to the remaining batter in the bowl
3 Eggs
1 C oil
1/2 C milk
1 C sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
2 C flour
2 boxes or 1 large box of instant vanilla pudding
Optional: 1 C raisins or chopped nuts
3. Grease 2 loaf pans. In a separate bowl , mix an additional 1/2 C sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon. Dust loaf pans with this mixture.
4. Pour evenly into pans. Sprinkle tops with more of the sugar/cinnamon mixture.
5. Bake for one hour. Cook until bread loosens from the sides of the pans. Turn onto plate or cooling rack and let sit in pan about 10 minutes before turning.
Instead of 1 C oil you can use 1/2 C oil and 1/2 C mashed bananas or applesauce

Tater Tot Chicken Casserole

last night I wanted to make something quick and easy too.. what I did was this.. I had some precooked chicken, I cut it in bite size chunks and put it in the bottom of a greased 8x13 inch pan, seasoned with garlic powder, salt and pepper, could use whatever seasonings you like, on top of that toss a 1 lb bag of frozen vegetables, next time I am going to use broccoli, I didnt like the carrots in mine. Anyways.. mix 1 can cream of chicken soup with 1/2 to 3/4 C sour cream and spread that over the veggies evenly. Over that layer grate a layer of cheese.Top with 1 32 ounce bag of tater tots/rounds frozen. pop in the oven for 45-55 minutes or until tater tots are browned and it is all hot all the way through my family RAVED about this one, I was SOO happy and will make again, so easy to throw together, Carm
